Before you begin

What to expect on your first journey.

Plant medicine work is intimate and, for most people, unfamiliar. Here is exactly how a journey with me unfolds — so the only thing you have to bring is yourself.

Almost everyone arrives a little nervous. That's not a problem to fix — it's a sign you understand this matters. My work is to make the unfamiliar feel safe enough that something real can happen.

The arc

Three steps, never rushed.

A journey is four sessions in all — two to prepare, the day itself, and one to integrate. A small arc with a beginning, a middle, and, just as importantly, an after.

Step 1 · Preparation
We meet, slowly.

Two preparation sessions before your journey. The first is intake and health screening; the second is for intention and clearing a space for the deep work. We talk through your history, your hopes, and any fears worth naming out loud — so you'll know exactly what the day holds before it arrives.

Step 2 · The journey
A held day.

A full day in a quiet, prepared space. Comfortable, music-rich, with me present and unhurried the entire time. You rest, you turn inward, and you let the medicine do its quiet work while I keep the container safe.

Step 3 · Integration
Bring it home.

One integration session in the days after. This is where insight becomes change — we translate what came up into how you actually live. The journey opens the door; integration is how you walk through it.

The day itself

A gentle rhythm, start to finish.

Arrival
Settling in

We start slow. Tea, a few quiet minutes, and a chance to feel the space before anything begins. We revisit your intention together and I answer any last questions. There is no rush to begin.

The medicine
Turning inward

Once you're ready, you take the medicine and settle in — usually lying down, with an eye covering and a curated soundscape. Most of the journey is internal and quiet. I'm beside you the whole time, attentive but unobtrusive, there the moment you need me.

The peak
Being met

Whatever arises — beauty, grief, memory, stillness — you don't have to manage it alone. If something hard comes up, we move toward it gently, together. My role is to keep you safe enough to let the experience be what it needs to be.

Coming back
A soft landing

As the medicine fades, we ease back into the room — warmth, quiet, something to eat. We'll talk a little if you want to, or simply rest. You won't drive yourself home; we'll have arranged a ride or an overnight in advance.

A full journey day typically runs six to eight hours. We hold the whole day — there is never a clock pushing us along.

What to bring
  • Comfortable, layered clothing you can rest in
  • An object or photo that holds meaning, if you'd like
  • A journal for afterward
  • An open, unhurried frame of mind
  • A plan for getting home — a ride or an overnight
What I provide
  • A private, comfortable, prepared space
  • Blankets, cushions, eye covering, and a curated soundscape
  • Carefully measured medicine, suited to you
  • Water, tea, and nourishing food
  • My full, trained, undivided presence — all day
Held with care

Safety is the first thing, not the last.

Every journey begins with a thorough screening — your health history, medications, and readiness all matter. If plant medicine isn't right or isn't right yet, I'll tell you directly and help you think through other paths. This work is offered under the Colorado Natural Medicine Health Act.
